MOAR SPEAKERS
There are at least dozen of new speakers confirmed in the last two weeks, and if you didn't browse the program section of our website recently, we’ll just give you an idea by mentioning a few of them.
Quinn Norton started studying hackers in 1995, and since today she is a serious journalist writing for Wired, The Guardian, and several other mags, she’ll probably tell a real tale on Anonymous and the global hacktivist movement against various organizations, corporations, and even governments. And when we come to this, Smari McCarty will have a lot to say since ideologically he’s a thoughtful anarchist, but he helped the government of Island in recovery from financial collapse in 2008 by starting a Shadow Parliament Project, which crowdsourced opinions on the issues concerning the collapse.
More regional speakers joined the list and will present their projects, ideas and success stories with the audience at SHARE conference. Work of Esraa Haidar Zayour and Wafa Ben Hassine are the good examples of how social justice activists are using new media to promote values and ideas successfully, with a great reach. Also, a talk was confirmed by Beirut born Nadim Kobeissi, Internet freedom fighter and software engineer, who developed popular encryption tool Cryptocat which allows activists from all over the world to communicate securely using only popular web browsers.
But it’s not only about social change and privacy and anonymity and freedom and hacking and blogging. It is also about music art, and for passionate music lovers, there will be Thom Cummings from one of the most popular communities and social networks in the world, the one that started an industry revolution: Soundcloud.
But why don’t you check the whole program by yourself, now that we have this fancy booklet online, one click away.
