Inspired by the power of the ‘collectivist’ nature of tribes and the notion of shared interests and common values, ‘Qabila TV’, or ‘Tribe TV’ in English is a media production organization, or media incubator, engaging in crowdsourcing initiatives.
While there are increasingly present individualistic trends in our world today, geographically bound communities may have taken a backseat in some places, but Qabila TV locates potential for the recovery of connectedness in ‘modern communities’ based on common interests and values using modern communication techniques and social networking practices.
Qabila TV Production Director, Egyptian Ammar Abu Shady, also produced several productions including music videos, documentaries, short films and ads.
In less than a year Qabila TV amassed a fan base of over 100,000 on Facebook and 3.5 million views on YouTube. They received countless ideas and contributions and generated over 40 productions.
